Whether you are a complete beginner, wanting to improve your skills, going for music grades or just wanting to learn your favourite song, I create a relaxed environment tailored to your needs. Whatever your level, and whatever style or genre (though I don't teach the electric guitar) teaching and sharing music is always for me a total joy.

It’s important that you feel happy and confident with your music teacher, so the first lesson is very much about seeing where you are with the guitar and where you want to go, and for you to see if I am the person to accompany you on this amazing journey.

Playing an instrument should not be a chore so I encourage students to learn and play what gives them that musical spark of joy. It's great to have a goal, wanting to perfect a certain piece, or get the grade, but enjoying each and every step along the way is the most important thing. I do believe regular practice between lessons is helpful to make good progress, however I certainly won’t give you a hard time if this doesn’t happen.

I am able to come to you if you would prefer, and lessons can be either half or a full hour. I also offer sessions online on Zoom.

If playing the guitar is something you have thought about and perhaps just want to have an initial taste, I am able to lend you a guitar for the lesson.
